Domestic trade followed global trend in tracking Arabica coffee prices and domestic roasters were selective in buying coffees. They bought only for their immediate requirement and exporters were not active at the Indian Coffee Trade Association (ICTA) auction on Thursday.

According to auctioneer J Thomas & Company, Robusta Parchment coffees on offer at the auction met with good support from the exporters as well as from the domestic trade. At the auction, of the 2.02 lakh kg (Arabica comprised 1.30 lakh kg and Robusta 72,515 kg) offered for sale, 62,000 kg was sold.

New season (2011-12) crop - Arabica Plantation PB, A and C grade price were lower by Rs 200 to 400 for 50 kg when compared to the last sale, B grade remained unsold.
