The Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh, will launch a portal, exclusive for rice on Saturday. The portal, developed by Directorate of Rice Research (DRR) here, will help stakeholders to get information on all aspects of rice.
The Rice Knowledge Management Portal (RKMP), funded by National Agricultural Innovation Project (NAIP), would use various ICT (information technology and communication) tools to provide info even on mobile phones.
“Built on web 2.0 standards, this portal caters to the location specific information needs of many stakeholders throughout the day. We are providing information in various Indian languages,” Mr B C Viraktamath, Project Director, DRR, said here on Friday.
