The annual flower show, the major tourist attraction during the month-long summer festival, would be held from May 17 at the Government Botanical Gardens here.
Giving details of the festival, Sathyaprakash Sahu, Director, Horticulture Department, said Kothagiri will host the two-day vegetable show from May 4 and Spices show will be held at Gudalur on May 6 and 7.
Another major attraction, Rose Show would be held at Centenary Rose Garden here from May 11-12, during which thousands of rare roses will be on display, Sahu said.
The May 17-19 flower show would attract visitors and tourists, not only from India but from abroad and all arrangements have been made to make it more attractive and with usual security, he said.
The fruit show will be held at Sim’s Park in Coonoor on May 25 and 26, he said. Besides horticultural departments from all districts in Tamil Nadu, this time competitors from outside the State have also been invited to participate in the festival, Sahu said.
