Pepper prices slipped on slack demand despite thin arrivals. No activities were reported from the national exchange while on the IPSTA some negligible quantity was trade but in day trading. Good quantity of imported pepper is reportedly available in the upcountry markets bought from Sri Lanka and Dubai, market sources told Business Line . They said Sri Lanka has reduced its pepper prices to $9,800 a tonne from $9,950. Similarly, Dubai-based operators were offering Vietnam pepper at $9,800 , the trade claimed. On the spot, seven tonnes of pepper were traded at ₹685-688 a kg. Spot prices lost ₹300 to ₹68,700 (ungarbled) and ₹71,700 (garbled) a quintal. Export prices were at $12,150 a tonne (c&f) for Europe and $12,400 for the US.
