Srinivasa Hatcheries Ltd has said it would close down some units in Andhra Pradesh that were damaged in cyclone Hudhud as it felt these could not be revived.
In a communication to the BSE, the company said the company's hatcheries at Mindivanipalem village and Aganampudi village would be closed since they were fully destroyed in cyclone Hudhud that hit AP in October. The sheds in the two facilities were destroyed along with the livestock in them, causing huge losses.
There was no production at these units following the cyclone. The company felt that there was `no scope for reviving the units’ and operations in them will `no longer be economically viable’.
Shares of SHL were trading at Rs 104, down by 15 paise on the BSE, the only exchange where its shares are listed. Recently, the promoters of the company announced their intention to voluntarily de-list the shares of SHL by buying out the 25 per cent stake held by the public in the company at a price of Rs 110/share.
