About 88 per cent of 14.54 lakh kg catalogued for Sale No: 41 of the auctions of Coonoor Tea Trade Association was sold. The average price marginally dropped to ₹94.26 a kg from previous week’s ₹94.85.
Homedale Estate’s Red Dust tea, auctioned by Global Tea Brokers, topped the entire CTC auctions when Tea Services India P Ltd bought it for ₹253 a kg. Pekoe Dust grade of Homedale Estate, auctioned by Global Tea Brokers, followed at ₹240.
In the CTC Leaf tea auctions, two grades of Homedale Estate, auctioned by Global Tea Brokers, topped each fetching ₹241 per kg.
Among orthodox teas, Kairbetta topped at ₹289 a kg followed by Chamraj at ₹244, Kodanad ₹240, Havukal ₹226, Mailoor ₹209 and Singara Estate ₹201.
