The Madhya Pradesh government’s decision to exclude chana from Bhavantar Bhugtan Yojna (price deficit financing scheme) and purchase the same on the MSP have fuelled chana prices in local mandis in the past two days by ₹200 a quintal with chana (kanta) at ₹3,700, while chana (desi) rose to ₹3,600. Chana dal (average) was at ₹4,600-4,700, chana dal (medium) at ₹4,800-4,900, while chana dal (bold) fetched ₹5,000-5,100. Dollar chana (chickpea) in Indore mandis went for ₹5,800-6,700 . In container, dollar chana (42/44 count) went for ₹7,500; 44/46 count at ₹7,300, while the 58/60 count traded at ₹5,400 a quintal respectively.
