Prices of some tea varieties spurted at Kochi auctions especially those in CTC dust came under the selection of major blenders. They were firm to dearer by ₹2-3 per kg and sometimes more.

Others were irregular and lower, especially high priced teas. In sale no 4, the quantity on offer in CTC dust was 9,27,000 kg. Upcountry buyers lent fair support, while exporters were selective and operated with lower price limit.

The market was lower for orthodox varieties and witnessed some withdrawals. Exporters and upcountry buyers absorbed a small quantity sold. The quantity on offer was 8,000kg.

In Cochin CTC dust quotation, good varieties fetched ₹121-165, medium grades quoted ₹89-137 and plain grades stood at ₹67-95.

In leaf, the market for select best Nilgiri brokens and whole leaf in orthodox grades was firm to dearer. The quantity on offer was 186,500 kg.

In CTC leaf, the market for good liquoring brokens was dearer, while Fannings remained steady. Upcountry buyers and exporters absorbed a small quantity.

In dust, Monica SFD topped at ₹165 followed by Waterfall SFD at ₹157. Chamraj FOP-S (Green Tea) was the topper in leaf category quoting ₹376 followed by Chamraj FOP at ₹351.
