Edible oils prices rose sharply on Tuesday tracking extended gain in futures markets amid fear of late monsoon in India. On the Bombay Commodity Exchange, imported palmolein and soya oil rose by ₹5 and ₹9 as local refineries increased their rates by ₹10 in line with foreign markets. Rapeseed-mustard, sunflower and cotton oil increased by ₹30, ₹5 and ₹3 for 10 kg each. Groundnut oil was steady. Vikram Global Commodities (P) Ltd quoted ₹545 for Malaysian super palm May delivery. Liberty was quoting palmolein at ₹525 JNPT, super palmolein ₹553 and soyabean refined oil ₹615. Ruchi’s rates: palmolein ₹525, soyabean refined oil ₹610, sunflower refined oil ₹701. Allana traded palmolein at ₹525, super palmolein ₹553, soyabean refined oil ₹615 and sunflower oil ₹705 for June. In Saurashtra-Rajkot, groundnut oil Telia tin was steady at ₹1,450 and loose (10 kg) up ₹5 at ₹930.
