Exporters were active only on Robusta Parchment coffees at the ICTA auction.
According to auctioneer J Thomas & Company, exporters kept away from Arabica Plantation and Arabica Cherry coffees. However, domestic traders were selective on Arabica plantation and Arabica Cherry coffee on sale.
At the auction, Robusta Cherry coffees got good support from domestic trade. Arabica Plantation A grade price were higher by Rs 400 for a 50-kg bag compared with the previous sale. Arabica Plantation C sold at current price levels at Rs 9,500 whereas PB and B grades remained unsold.
Arabica Cherry PB grade sold at Rs 8,850, C grade sold at last week level, AB grade remained unsold. Robusta Parchment PB, AB and C grade sold at price similar to last week, AA and RKR price were lower by Rs 50-100 for a bag compared with last sale.
Robusta Cherry PB and C grade sold at last week levels, AB grade price were higher by Rs 175, AA grade sold at current price levels.
Domestic traders were active on Arabica Plantation BBB, Arabica cherry, Robusta parchment and Robusta Cherry BBB sold at previous auction price level.
Following are the prices of a 50-kg bag of the grades: Arabica plantation A Rs 11,100, Arabica plantation C Rs 9,500, Arabica plantation BBB Rs 7,800, Arabica cherry PB Rs 8,850-9,050, Arabica cherry AA Rs 9,300, Arabica cherry C Rs 6,600, Arabica cherry BBB Rs 5,800. Robusta parchment PB Rs 7,750-7,900, Robusta parchment AB Rs 8,500, Robusta parchment AA Rs 8,635, Robusta parchment RKR Rs 8,550, Robusta parchment C Rs 7,400, Robusta parchment BBB Rs 5,850, Robusta cherry PB Rs 6,150, Robusta cherry AB Rs 6,425, Robusta cherry AA Rs 6550-6,685, Robusta cherry C Rs 5,900, Robusta cherry BBB Rs 5,800.
