Indigo Ag, a company focused on sustainable cultivation, and Mahyco Grow, an agri-innovation major, have launched Grow Indigo, a joint venture to provide growers across South Asia access to microbial technology.
Microbial products can help mitigate the effects of environmental stress on crops throughout the region.
Karsten Neuffer, Indigo’s Chief Operating Officer, International, said, “This partnership with Mahyco Grow combines the technological innovation of two market leaders to maximise benefits for growers. Amid challenging environmental conditions, Indigo products can enable smallholders in India to improve their yields, generate more revenue, and implement sustainable farming practices.”
This marks Indigo’s first venture into small holder markets. The network of grower relationships that Mahyco Grow™ has will be used to bring treated seeds to farms across the country.
“Limited water availability, varying temperatures, and an ever-changing climate all of these issues can be addressed with microbial treated seeds,” said Shirish Barwale, Director of Mahyco Grow.
