Improved arrivals and active participation of regional blenders on good liquoring varieties lifted prices of some tea varieties at Kochi auctions.

The CTC dust market was steady to firm and sometimes dearer by ₹2 to ₹3 following quality and quantity offered. However, browner teas was irregular and sometimes lower. The quantity on offer was 9,27,500 kg, up from the previous week.

Though there was a subdued demand from upcountry buyers, exporters operated with enhanced limits.

The market of orthodox dust was firm to dearer and exporters continued to be the main stakeholder of the small quantity sold. The quantity on offer was 6000 kg.

In Cochin CTC dust quotation, good varieties fetched ₹120-183, mediums quoted ₹96-138 and plain grades ruled ₹85-103.

In the leaf category, the market for Nilgiri brokens and whole leaf in orthodox grades was firm to dearer following quality. The quantity on offer was 118,000 kg.

In CTC leaf, the market for brokens were firm to dearer. The quantity on offer was 50,500 kg. Fannings generally appreciated in value.

Monica SFD quoted the best prices of ₹183 in dust followed by Monica FD at ₹163. In leaf, Chamraj FOP-S (Green Tea) came to the top quoting ₹416 followed by Kodanad TGFOP at ₹376.
