Sugar prices on the Vashi market declined by ₹10 a quintal on back of continuous supply amid limited demand. Naka rates were steady. Mill tender prices were down by ₹5-10.
In absence of upcountry or exports demand mills are bound to concentrate on local markets. Prices in other producing centres are also ruling par with MaharashtraFreight rates were unchanged. Arrivals remained stable at 58-60 truck loads and local dispatches were also at same level. On Wednesday evening, about 20-22 mills offered tenders and sold about 55,000-60,000 bags at ₹2,045-2,195 (2,050-2,200) for S-grade and ₹2,190-2,330 (2,200-2,340) for M-grade.
The Bombay Sugar Merchants Association’s spot rates: S-grade ₹2,220-2,415 (2,220-2,425) and M-grade ₹2,310-2,622 (2,320-2,622). Naka delivery rates: S-grade ₹2,200-2,260 (2,200-2,260) and M-grade ₹2,280-2,430 (2,280-2,430).
