A mixed trend was witnessed on spot and futures sugar markets on Tuesday. On the Vashi spot market prices dropped by ₹10-12 a quintal tracking weak mill tender prices which lost ₹20 at the lower side. Naka prices were steady. Arrivals and local dispatches remained normal. Volume at mill level jumped as stockists bought fresh stocks considering lower prices. Vashi market carries about 100-105 truck loads stocks. Arrivals remained stable at 58-60 truck loads and local dispatches were about 57-58 loads. On Monday evening, about 20-22 mills offered tenders and sold about 50,000-55,000 bags at ₹2,050-2,200 (2,070-2,200) for S-grade and ₹2,200-2,350 (2,220-2,350) for M-grade.
The Bombay Sugar Merchants Association’s spot rates: S-grade ₹2,232-2,431 (2,242-2,431) and M-grade ₹2,332-2,530 (2,340-2,632). Naka delivery rates: S-grade ₹2,200-2,270 (2,200-2,270) and M-grade ₹2,310-2,470 (2,310-2,470).
