Sugar prices for M-grade declined further by ₹10 a quintal while S-grade ruled unchanged on the Vashi wholesale market with routine activities. As producers continued offloading old stocks at a discount, the market remained under pressure. Naka and mill tender rates ruled steady. A Vashi-based wholesaler said as stockists carry about 105-110 truckloads and producers are continuously selling. Local retail demand also remained subdued.
Arrivals at Vashi market remain stable at 60-62 truckloads and local dispatches were also at 60-61 loads. On Monday evening, about 21-22 mills offered tenders and sold about 45,000-48,000 bags at ₹2,040-2,200 (2,040-2,200) for S-grade and ₹2,180-2,300 (2,190-2,300) for M-grade.
The Bombay Sugar Merchants Association’s spot rates: S-grade ₹2,182-2,345 (2,182-2,345) and M-grade ₹2,290-2,602 (2,300-2,602). Naka delivery rates: S-grade ₹2,140-2,290 (2,140-2,290) and M-grade ₹2,280-2,400 (2,280-2,400).
