The Andhra Pradesh Regional Office of National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard) has topped the list of regional offices in the financial performance for financial year 2010-11. The Andhra Pradesh office, which had to settle for eight position in the previous year, moved up the ladder to occupy the first slot.

“Nabard Head Office had introduced a system of rating the performance of its Regional Offices based on measurable performance indicators a couple of years back. The performance is assessed under twelve major indicators including business performance and developmental initiatives. The business indicators include disbursements made in the State under investment credit, production credit and Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF), a bank release said here.

“We could clear all targets, barring disbursements under RIDF. We disbursed a refinance of Rs 2,293.47 crore, the highest among all Nabard offices, to commercial banks, RRBs and co-operative banks,” it said.

Besides, the Andhra Pradesh office exceeded targets under all major promotional programmes, both under non-farm sector and farm sector initiatives.
