Natural rubber output fell by 32 per cent to 46,000 tonne last month, while consumption declined by nearly 4 per cent to 82,500 tonne, the Rubber Board said today.
In July last year, the production was 68,000 tonne and consumption at 85,710 tonne.
Imports increased by 39 per cent to 29,311 tonne last month, from 21,059 tonne in July 2012, while exports fell sharply to 40 tonne from 1,882 tonne during the period under review.
During the April-July period of this fiscal, production fell by 18.6 per cent to 1,96,000 tonne.
The consumption of natural rubber, however, decreased merely by 2 per cent to 3,30,480 tonne.
