KS Srinivas, a 1997 batch IAS officer of the Kerala cadre, formally took over (on August 13) as Chairman of the Marine Products Export Development Authority (Mpeda) under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry. Prior to his new assignment, he served a stint as Joint Secretary in the Department of Agriculture Cooperation & Farmers’ Welfare, Ministry of Agriculture.
An engineering graduate with a degree in business management from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM)-Calcutta, he served as Sub-Collector, Fort Kochi; District Collector, Kannur and Palakkad districts, Managing Director, Malabar Cements; General Manager, SUPPLYCO and Secretary in various departments of the Kerala government.
