This week, the Coonoor Tea Trade Association (CTTA) has dropped its weekly auctions scheduled for Thursday and Friday owing to Diwali celebrations across the country. The CTTA holds Leaf tea auctions on Thursdays and Dust tea auctions on Fridays but for this week, as the sales come close to Diwali holidays, it has dropped Sale No: 45. Accordingly, Sale No: 46 will be held on November 15 and 16. In effect, it means that the market will remain closed for a fortnight for Diwali celebrations as the pre-Diwali auctions (Sale No: 44) took place on November 1 and 2.
