Pepper markets ruled steady on Tuesday on limited activities . There were no sellers. Buyers were ready to buy high range pepper at ₹685 and Rajkumari (Idukki) high bulk density material at even ₹690 but no sellers were forthcoming, trade sources told Business Line .
Cued by the uptrend in India, Sri Lanka has reportedly raised their prices for 550GL to $9,700-9,800 a tonne and 525 GL to $9,650, they said. On the spot, eight tonnes were traded at ₹685 a kg.
Spot prices stayed steady at ₹66,100 (ungarbled) and ₹69,100 (garbled) a quintal. All the five futures on the IPSTA remained unchanged. Export prices were at $11,050 a tonne c&f for Europe and $11,300 for the US.
