The pre-monsoon reservoir water storage position in Indus, Narmada, Ganga, Tapi, Sabarmati, Godavari, Krishna, Rivers of Kutch, Cauvery & neighbouring east flowing rivers (EFRs), Mahanadi & neighbouring EFRs and west flowing rivers of south basins is better than average of previous 10 years. But, the storage position in Mahi basin is deficient from average of previous 10 years, according to the Ministry of Water Resources.
Out of 81 important reservoirs, storage was less than 80 per cent of the average of previous 10 years in 13. In the remaining 68, the storage was more than 80 per cent of the average of previous 10 years, according to the Central Water Commission.
