Refined soya oil futures prices rose by Rs 7.05 to Rs 649 for 10 kg on Thursday, as traders enlarged their positions in tandem with a firm trend in the spot market. Fall in supplies from overseas markets also supported the rise in prices.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, refined soya oil for delivery in March rose by Rs 7.05, or 1.10 per cent, to Rs 649 for 10 kg, with a business turnover of two lots.
Similarly, the oil for delivery in January surged by Rs 5.60, or 0.88 per cent, to Rs 635 for 10 kg, with an open interest of 10 lots.
While delivery in February surged by Rs 4.80, or 0.75 per cent, to Rs 644.05 for 10 kg, with a business turnover of 21 lots.
Market analysts said increased buying by speculators on rising demand in the spot market, led to the rise in refined soya oil prices in futures trade.
