Spot pepper prices moved up on tight supply of good quality pepper from Kerala on Wednesday. Growers are not willing to part with their produce at current rates, market sources told BusinessLine . They said only four tonnes of high range pepper arrived on Wednesday at the terminal market. Due to low availability, spot prices increased by ₹500 a quintal to close at ₹54,500 (ungarbled) and ₹57,500 (garbled) a quintal. Export prices were also unchanged at Tuesday’s levels.
