Sugar prices ruled steady at a lower level on Wednesday on routine demand and supply. At the Vashi wholesale market, prices for M-grade dropped by ₹4-13 a quintal, while S-grade was unchanged.
Around 18-20 mills offered tenders on Tuesday evening and sold nearly 64,000-65,000 bags at ₹2,280-2,420 (₹2,280-2,420) for S-grade and ₹2,420-2,560 (₹2420-2,560) for M-grade. Bombay Sugar Merchants Association, spot rates were: S-grade ₹2,420-2,551(₹2,420-2,551), M-grade was ₹2,526-2,652 (₹2,530-2,665).
