Sugar rises on higher demand

Sugar prices shot up on the back of higher demand support amid firm mill tender rates on Monday. On Saturday, around 24 mills sold 64,000-65,000 bags of S-grade sugar at ₹2,980-3,050 and M-grade sugar at ₹3,030–3,160. Bombay Sugar Merchants Association rates: S-grade at ₹3,102-3,202 and M-grade at ₹3,212-3,406. Naka delivery rates S-grade at ₹3,100-3,160 and M-grade at ₹3,150-3,260.
