Spot sugar prices strengthened further at the Vashi wholesale market on strong stockist demand as well as good export offtake.
Maharashtra’s mills sold the commodity sugar at ₹100-120 a quintal higher the previous day which lifted prices by ₹40-70 at Vashi markets. In line with firm mill tender rates, Naka rates also extended gain by ₹70-80. Arrivals at Vashi market improved to 61-62 truck loads while local dispatches were higher at 64-65 loads. Freight rates also ruled firm.
The Bombay Sugar Merchants Association’s spot rates: S-grade ₹2,460-2,532 (2,392-2,482) and M-grade ₹2,510-2,622 (2,470-2,582). Naka delivery rates: S-grade ₹2,500-2,550 (2,420-2,500) and M-grade ₹2,590-2,670 (2,520-2,600).
