Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Suresh Prabhu will inaugurate the fourth edition of India Rubber Meet (IRM 2018) here at Hotel Grand Hyatt on August 30.
Jointly organised by the Rubber Board and the stakeholder associations in rubber and allied sectors, the two-day meet will be a forum to evolve new strategies to confront the present challenges of the rubber industry.
There will be invited talks by international renowned speakers on topics such as mega trends in auto and tyre sectors, electricity mobility — impact on rubber value chain, outlook of synthetic rubbers in India, outlook for commodities produced by developing countries, sustainable rubber industry — producer and user perspectives, global natural rubber scenario, etc.
The theme of IRM 2018 is ‘Towards a sustainable rubber value chain’.
Speakers include Gunther Lottmann (CEO, Grupo Fortaleza, Guatemala), Rakesh Batra (Partner and National Leader, Automotive Sector, Ernst & Young), Kishor Katkar (Head, Technical Services & Business Development, Indian Synthetic Rubbers Pvt Ltd), Aly Toure (Representative of Ivory Cost, International Organisations of Commodities, UK), John Heath (Director, Wurffain BR, United Kingdom).
There will also be panel discussions involving experts and key stakeholders from different segments of the rubber industry. The topics for the international and national panel discussions are ‘Global Challenges and Emerging Alternatives’ and ‘Challenges & Opportunities from Stakeholders Perspective’ respectively.
