The final tasting session of the 15th Edition of The Golden Leaf India Award: Southern Tea Competition (TGLIA: STC) was held in Ahmedabad recently.
The 66 short-listed teas that qualified in the first and second level of screening were evaluated by a jury comprising renowned tasters and major buyers.
Bombay Burmah Trading Corporation Ltd won 5 awards, while Kanan Devan Hills Plantations Company Pvt Ltd and United Nilgiri Tea Estates Company Ltd shared 4 awards each.
Devon Plantations & Industries Ltd, Joonktollee Tea & Industries Ltd, Harrisons Malayalam Limited– SBU(B) and Kodanad Estate shared 3 awards each, while Harrisons Malayalam Limited- SBU(A) won 2 awards, Waterfall Estate Pvt Ltd and Woodbriar Group shared 1 award each.
Vigneshwar Estate Tea Factory won 6 awards in the Bought Leaf Factory Segment.
