Turmeric arrivals decreased at Erode markets on Tuesday. Many farmers brought only 3,000 bags for sale which were of medium quality. The traders purchased only 60 per cent of the arrivals. . Some traders bought good number of turmeric bags from Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh for their upcountry orders,said Krishnamurthy, a trader. The arrival of Salem hybrid was low, but all the hybrid turmeric fetched higher price. The hybrid finger variety was up ₹500 a quintal and the hybrid root variety lost ₹200.
