The price of turmeric has decreased sharply due to quality. Due to the arrival of very-poor-quality turmeric for sale, the price of both varieties fell in Erode. Finger turmeric was down by ₹900 a quintal at the Regulated Marketing Committee and ₹300 at the Erode Turmeric Merchants Association sales yard. Similarly, the root variety was lower by ₹1,400 at the Regulated Marketing Committee due to quality. The same was also ₹350 lower at the Erode Turmeric Merchants Association sales yard.
