The price of turmeric increased on Tuesday due to an increase in local demand and arrival of medium-quality turmeric, said Krishnamurthy, a trader.
Finger turmeric increased by ₹500 a quintal at the Regulated Marketing Committee and ₹300 at the Erode Cooperative Marketing Society. It rose by ₹100 at the Erode Turmeric Merchants Association Sales yard. The root variety declined by ₹200 in all the markets due to quality.
