Spot turmeric prices of both old and new crop increased at Erode markets as traders received some upcountry orders. On Friday, arrivals of turmeric increased to 4,500 bags. Of this 1,500 bags were new turmeric, said R Krishnamurthy, a trader.
Finger turmeric was up ₹320 in the Regulated Marketing Committee and the new and old finger turmeric was increased by ₹100 in the Erode Turmeric Merchants Association Sales yard. Similarly, the root variety increased by ₹150-200 .
