RKV Ravishankar, President, Erode Turmeric Merchants Association said farmers are still holding on to good varieties of turmeric, expecting prices to increase. Traders are meanwhile awaiting the arrival of good quality turmeric to purchase the same for export. At the Erode Turmeric Merchants Association sales yard finger turmeric sold at ₹5,509- 7,455 a quintal, while the root variety sold at ₹5,261-6,814. At the Regulated Marketing Committee finger turmeric sold at ₹ 6,009-7,077 a quintal. The root variety was sold at ₹5,719-6,619. Of the arrival of 616 bags, 438 bags were sold.
