A volume of 11.22 lakh kg has been catalogued for Sale No: 12 of Coonoor Tea Trade Association auction to be held on Thursday and Friday. This is as much as 1.64 lakh kg less than last week’s offer. As much as 11.21 lakh kg belongs to CTC variety and only 1.01 lakh kg, orthodox variety. In the leaf counter, only 56,000 kg belongs to orthodox while 7.46 lakh kg, CTC. Among the dusts, only 45,000 kg belongs to orthodox while 2.75 lakh kg, CTC. Vigneshwar Speciality Red Dust, auctioned by Paramount Tea Marketing, topped the Dust sale and the entire CTC market last week when Jay Kay Enterprises bought it for ₹216 a kg. Homedale Estate’s Broken Pekoe, auctioned by Global Tea Brokers, topped Leaf auctions at ₹199/kg.
