Spot turmeric prices decreased at the markets of Erode on poor upcountry demand. Arrivals of the spice increased to 5,500 bags and the buyers purchased good number of bags for their local demand, said Krishnamurthy, a trader. On an average, 65 per cent arrivals were sold. Regarding the price, some bags of finger turmeric were up by ₹200 a quintal at the Regulated Marketing Committee. In other markets both varieties lost ₹200.
