The Nitte-based Justice KS Hegde Institute of Management conducted a workshop on ‘E-commerce strategies for sustainable agribusiness’ at Nitte in Udupi district on Wednesday. Ramesh Mittal, Director of the Jaipur-based National Institute of Agricultural Marketing, who inaugurated the workshop, said that agro-processing industries are in the forefront of economic growth of India.
One of the key areas of reform in agribusiness is marketing. If marketing network is widened and well spread, there could be an assured increase in the income of our rural people, especially farmers, he said. Stating that many educated people are showing interest in agribusiness, he said they are capable of designing good strategies for generating good revenue in their ventures.
Around 30 participants participated in the workshop. Experts trained the participants in e-commerce and related topics of marketing.
