A Mangalore-based start-up has said that the Union Budget 2014-15 is a budget of cautious assurance with broad perspective and good intent.
Naren Koduvattat, Chairman and Managing Director of the Mangalore-based i-POINT Consulting Services Pvt Ltd , said that the budget keeps continuity from past regime with better governance.
It has also given great focus on developing basic infrastructure and sanitation.
On entrepreneurship development, he said the budget has given a great focus in this matter. Stating that the allocation of ₹10,000 crore for start-up capital is huge, he said this can trigger innovation and small enterprises.
On the education sector, he said initiatives such as the National Rural Internet and Technology Mission, virtual classrooms and new teacher training scheme can be the true game changers.
On the proposals for IT sector, he said there is push to develop the domestic hardware industry in the budget. The reviving of special economic zones may trigger some growth, he said.
“It is exciting to see the commitment towards developing tier-2 cities in the budget,” he said, adding that more than ₹7,000 crore allocation for smart cities is a great step.
