The Finance Minister has announced the setting up of a National Academy for Customs & Excise at Hindupur in Andhra Pradesh. This is on the lines of the national academy of direct taxes at Nagpur.
Such academy serves as a training centre for probationers of the Indian Revenue Services, all officers of the revenue department for various mid-career training programs and advanced programs with foreign collaboration.
