Ettin 2011, the B-school festival of Justice K.S. Hegde Institute of Management, began at Nitte in Udupi district on Friday.
Inaugurating the event, Ms Lekshmi Kumaran, Deputy General Manager (Corporate Communications), Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd, said that long-term sustainability depends upon triple bottom line. No corporation can survive just with the principle of profit maximisation.
Terming manager as a differentiator, she said when a manager takes a management decision he should always think how he can create a difference and how it does influence the environment. Dr N.K. Thingalaya, Chairman of the academic council of the institute, presided over the function.
Prof K. Ramesh Karnik, Director of the institute, welcomed the gathering. A statement by the institute said here that 25 b-schools from various parts of the country are participating in the Ettin 2011.
