The Supreme Court has asked a competent authority of the Centre to look into allegations of misconduct against the former CJI, Mr K. G. Balakrishnan.
The SC has refused to direct the Centre for a Presidential reference against Mr Balakrishnan, saying it needs to be decided by the President on the advice of the Council of Ministers.
