Former Union Minister and Congress MP Subodh Kant Sahay on Saturday said that elections were not held based on economic agendas these days.
According to Sahay, politicians have been “talking about regional, caste or religion-based polarisation’’ and not important economic agendas of the country.
“Parties are doing politics of polarisation and not on economic agendas. If we have to change the system, we have to correct the power structure. There should be a touch of spiritualism in the power structure, bureaucracy and administration,’’ he said here while addressing the 5th World Confluence of Humanity, Power and Spirituality organised by SREI Foundation.
Sahay pointed out that politics is incomplete without religion, but politicisation of religion for vested interests has been harming the society.
