The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) and Economiesuisse have entered into a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to co-operate in areas of mutual interest for the benefit of their member companies and regions.
The bilateral cooperation agreement between the leading business organisations of India and Switzerland was signed here on Thursday. While Mr Sudhir Jalan, former FICCI President, signed it on behalf of FICCI, Mr Gerold Buhrer, President, Economiesuisse signed it on behalf of Economiesuisse.
Both sides have agreed to encourage and facilitate the contacts between the companies of the respective associations through the exchange of business delegations.
They have also agreed to adopt common positions, statements or declarations in support of improving the Swiss-Indian trade and investment relationship.
The MoU also provides for exchange of information on matters of reciprocal interest: economic situation and policy, economic trends, legislation on trade and investments, incentives, business opportunities, exhibitions and fairs.
Economiesuisse and FICCI will develop joint initiatives in specific sectors within the scope of their competence.
For this purpose, Economiesuisse and FICCI will promote entrepreneurial missions in the country of the partner organisation.
