The Finance Ministry has imposed definitive anti-dumping duty on certain textured tempered glass (coated and uncoated) from Malaysia.
This glass -- with thickness not more than 4 mm --- is generally used as a component on solar photovoltaic panels and solar thermal applications. Gujarat Borosil Ltd, sole producer of this glass, had filed the petition seeking anti-dumping duty on such tempered glass from Malaysia.
Based on the recommendations of the Designated Authority in the Commerce Ministry in its final findings, the revenue department has now imposed definitive anti-dumping duty ranging from 'Nil' to $ 114.58 per tonne. Unless revoked earlier, this definitive anti-dumping duty will be valid for a period of five years.
