India is hosting 21 young MPS from Africa for a week.  While most of their time is spent on the usual things, for some it is also an opportunity to seek divine intervention.

The delegation went to Akshardham temple where almost all of them “prayed that one day we become Presidents or Prime Ministers of our countries. We also prayed on behalf of some of our fellow MPs who could not make the trip,” says the Malawi Member of Parliament (MP)

Bombay films are also special . “The one thing I would like to purchase is a copy of the movie 1942: A Love story . I know the songs, dialogue and scenes by heart. I am sure India is very different from what is depicted in the movie,” a Tanzanian MP said.

And for Namibian MP, Sophia Swartz  it is a chance to find out where India is on the global map:  “Sam Njueoma used to talk about India even though most people in Namibia had no clue where it was on the map.”

Bagalatia Arone, the MP from Botswana, talks about the influence that Gandhiji's three monkey philosophy has had on him. He hears no evil, sees no evil and speaks no evil.

The group includes a three-member all women delegation from Mozambique and also the youngest MP from Zimbabwe, Anastancia Ndhlovu.

Maria Ivone Rensamo Bernardo Soares who was elected to the Mozambique Parliament as recently as 2010 is also a member of the team. The trip has been organised by the Ministry of External Affairs in the run up to the second India Africa Forum Summit scheduled to be held in Addis Ababa next month.
