Showing a three per cent year on year rise in employment index, the Monster.com employment index says retail, auto, healthcare and biotechnology have exhibited positive growth momentum.
Of the 27 industry sectors monitored by the Monster Employment Index, 16 registered expansion in recruitment activity between May 2011 and May 2012.
Shipping/marine (up 12 per cent) continued to exhibit the highest annual growth among sectors, while garments, leather, gems and jewellery, healthcare, biotechnology and life sciences, pharmaceutical sectors (up 11 per cent) maintained an upward trend in online recruitment activity during the period.
Employment index in Government/PSU/defence was down 18 per cent, showing the steepest annual decline.
The Monster Employment Index is a broad monthly analysis of online job posting activity in India conducted by Monster India.
