Kerala has emerged as one of the important growing market hubs for ICRA as the State is positioned as one of the key emerging markets with a large number of companies.
Mr Jayanta Chatterjee, Senior Group Vice-President, ICRA, said that Kochi holds special business significance for ICRA, which enjoys strong business network in Kochi. Going forward we see good business growth potential for ICRA in credit rating space. ICRA has been witnessing increase in number of companies coming forward to get them rated for their bank facilities under the Basel II Framework, he said.
ICRA has undertaken more than 4,500 assignments, covering over 2,000 companies across India in various sectors such as manufacturing, pharmaceutical, construction, telecom, financial services and hospitality.
Some of the prominent companies and banks that currently use ICRA ratings in Kerala are State Bank of Travancore, Mannapuram General Finance and Leasing Ltd, Harrisons Malayalam Ltd, Dhanlaxmi Bank Ltd, Muthoot Finance Ltd, Muthoot Fincorp Ltd, and Muthoot Hotels and Infrastructure Ventures Pvt. Ltd.
