Also, by 2017 the survey expects 87 per cent of Indian organisations to start employing psychometric instruments for addressing behavioural changes to support decisions related to recruitment and leadership development
Psychometrics refers to the use of psychological measurements, including measurement of knowledge, abilities attitude, behaviour and personality traits. “Most Indian companies are realising that having a good strategy is not enough. For implementation of strategy, companies need the right talent especially at senior management levels,” said Rohan Chopra, Principal and Head – Organisational Effectiveness, Tata Strategic Management Group.
According to the survey, 76 per cent of the companies are using psychometrics for leadership development processes.
While most of the psychometric instruments currently are from the US and European market, customised programmes validated to the Indian environment like Jombay are also gaining prominence, Chopra said.
