Three domestic flights of Air India from Thiruvananthapuram were cancelled due to a strike by pilots belonging to the erstwhile Indian Airlines demanding pay parity with AI pilots.
According to Air India sources, Thiruvananthapuram-Chennai and two flights to Mumbai were cancelled. However, all international flights of Air India from the International Airport here operated as per schedule.
Air India sources at Kochi said the Air India Kozhikode-Delhi flight was cancelled this morning, while the Thiruvananthapuram-Chennai flight was clubbed with an evening flight. There have been no disruptions from Kochi.
AI 658 Kozhikode-Delhi via Coimbatore and Mumbai, which was scheduled to leave at 2 p.m. has been cancelled. Either the tickets of the 46 passengers would be refunded or they would be endorsed to other carriers, the sources said.
The Thiruvananthapuram-Chennai AI flight at 9.40 a.m. has been clubbed with AI flight at 4 p.m.
A Dubai flight from Kozhikode was operated at 10 a.m., the sources said.
