Bengaluru International Airport gets a rare distinction of receiving four airport-related ISO certifications, the latest being the ISO 9001:2008 international quality certification and the OHSAS 18001 for safety and health management, the operator, BIAL, has said.
“Bengaluru International Airport is now one of very few airports in the country that has received world-class quality (9001), environment (14001), information security management system standards (27001) and occupational health and safety (18001) management systems,” a release said.
The process took almost six months. Mr G.V. Sanjay Reddy, BIAL's Managing Director, said, "We achieved these certifications on our first attempt.”
Mr N.R. Krishnakumar, certification agency DNV's Director Operations - India and Middle East, said the certifications will maintain BIA's level of excellence and world class airport status.
