DP World Kochi, along with Mulavukadu Grama Pranchayath and various other social, cultural and religious organisations from the Vallarpadam area, organised a free medical camp at the St Mary's High School, Vallarpadam.

Mr K. K. Krishnadas, Chief Executive Officer, DP World Kochi, Mr Dinakarn, President Mulavukadu Panchayath, and Fr Thomas Pulickan, Vicar Vallarpadam Basilica, jointly inaugurated the function by lighting the lamp.

A medical team of 50 doctors and technicians from the Amrita Institute of Medical Science and Research, Edapally, conducted the medical camp. Apart from physical medical examination, specialised equipments for dental treatment, E.C.G., X-Ray, and also a mobile laboratory for blood tests were made available at the site.

Community health

Mr K. K.Krishnadas said the company is taking its responsibility to the community very seriously. Last year, it had joined hands with the MIMS Charitable Trust to make a tangible difference to the lives of children suffering from major heart conditions. By offering free health checkups to the community, our endeavour is to create awareness amongst people about the importance of keeping good health in today's fast moving world and to ensure that the right diagnosis and treatment is provided, he said.

The Amrita Institute has agreed to do the required follow-up to the participants in the camp by extending free cataract surgery and dental treatment for the patients identified. They will also offer free treatment for expecting mothers and destitute kids, he said.
